A blend of 54% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the 2017 Trutina opens with juicy, fruit-forward notes of black cherry and plum essence. Medium-bodied, the wine is fresh, balanced and open with an accessible palate that offers hints of baking spices, vanilla and sweet cocoa powder. The wine ends with a pleasing finish. It spent 21 months in 30% new oak, 10% American. 66,000 bottles produced.
