Made from vines that are over 50 years old, the 2001 Barbaresco Cotta is the roundest and most supple of the wines and offers a potent nose of truffles and wet earth along with a brooding palate of dark, extracted fruit. Along with the Fausoni, it is one of the more approachable Sottimano Barbarescos when young. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2013.
