The 1972 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a pretty, charming wine, bursting with aromas of dried cherries, red berries, spices and dried flowers. Medium to full-bodied, tangy and enveloping on the attack, the wine's stringy tannins dominate on the finish. In the final analysis, this will never be ranked among the great renditions of the Engel family's Clos Vougeot.
