The 2008 Ferentano is a rich, textured white loaded with sweet honey, tropical fruit, mint and flowers. The Ferentano sees full malolactic fermentation in French and American oak, which gives the wine much of its volume and richness, both of which carry through to an elegant finish. Ferentano is made from Roscetto, a once nearly-extinct variety native to Lazio. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013. Proprietor Riccardo Cotarella is a fountain of energy. Cotarella is best known for his numerous consulting projects, but in recent years he has devoted considerable attention to reviving some of the indigenous and obscure varieties found in Lazio and Umbria.A Leonardo Lo Cascio Selection, Winebow, Montvale, NJ; tel.
