The 2007 Reserva is part of this issue's vertical. Whether it is the vintage or a refinement of style, this seems to be a point where the wines show differently. They have a bit more freshness, but also, stylistically, more elegance as a group. With air, this comes around beautifully. It opens lush and sensual, with sweet fruit and impeccable balance. Then, it closes down fairly hard and takes another hour to come back. Fresh and delicious, it is ultimately hard to resist. As it aired out, the fruit became wonderfully expressive. Although its balance is ultimately very good and it is drinkable right now, it is not always an easy wine just now. It has plenty of components in play. It also has a fine backbone to support it during the ageing process. This should hold in the cellar beautifully for a couple of decades or so. It may yet be entitled to an uptick.
