The 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Vergelesses wafts from the glass with notes of baked plum, cherries, raspberry, currant leaf, rich spice and espresso which mingle in a sun-kissed bouquet. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich and ample, with fine-grained tannins and flavors of fruit preserve. This is a bit more marked by the 2015 sunshine than it seemed in barrel (when it seemed the peer or even the superior of the domaine's Serpentières), and could end up evolving like the 1990.
