The 2006 Josefina Pinol Red Dulce was produced from 90% Garnacha (over 100 years of age) and 10% Syrah and aged for 5 months in seasoned oak. It reveals aromas of earth, mineral, and black cherry with flavors of assorted black fruits and prunes. On the palate it is intense, medium sweet, and lengthy. Drink this late harvest wine over the next 2-3 years. Celler Vinos Pinol was founded in 1945 by Josep Arrufi. The fourth generation currently runs the estate which consists of 100 acres in Terra Alta, a D.O. which is just a bit drier and warmer than neighboring Montsant and Priorat.
