The 2006 Castell de les Pinyeres is a blend of 40% Samso, 40% Garnacha, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark ruby-colored, it displays an enticing nose of mineral, damp earth, cassis, and cherry. Slightly austere on the palate currently, another year of bottle age should round it out. This medium-long effort will drink well from 2011 to 2016.
