More Grenache-dominated on the nose than the Chante Le Merle, with sweet kirsch and red berry fruit, dried flowers, licorice and roasted herbs, the 2003 A la Gloire de mon Grand-Pere is medium-bodied, lightly-textured and elegant on the palate. Also at a great drinking point, it has a core of sweet Grenache fruit, solid balance and a heady, lengthy finish. It should be consumed over the coming 4-5 years.
