The 100% Grenache 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Grenache a la Gloire de Mon Grandpere is precocious and easy to drink. Despite a light to medium ruby color, it packs a punch, revealing far more flavor authority than the light color suggests. Medium to full-bodied, with loads of sexy kirsch liqueur intermixed with licorice and roasted peanuts, this accessible, consumer-friendly Chateauneuf du Pape should be consumed over the next 6-7 years.
