The last three times I have had this wine it has consistently scored in the low nineties. There is a certain rusticity to the wine's tough tannin, but its magnificent bouquet of kirsch, roasted nuts, balsam wood, and earth is compelling. In the mouth, it is a plump, full-bodied, fat, concentrated wine with layers of extract and glycerin. This chewy and remarkably well-preserved 1962 seems to just get better and better. Anticipated maturity: Now-2015. Last tasted 12/96
