The Pecchenino 2020 Dogliani Superiore Sirì d'Jermu opens to a darkly concentrated appearance and virtually no light penetration. The bouquet is redolent of dark fruit, cherry marmalade and dried exotic fig or date. The Dolcetto grape fares very well in the hot vintages, producing more flavor and aromatic intensity as those summer temperatures rise. Despite that intensity, it never loses its easy-drinking appeal.
