The controversial 1989 Bonny's Vineyard Cabernet is a "love it or hate it" wine. The herbaceousness has the upper hand in the strong vegetal aromatic profile that dominates. Yet it remains a well-endowed, rich, full-bodied, impressively-constructed and extracted wine with copious amounts of cassis fruit, but be forewarned, the herbaceous character is at the limit of acceptability. This wine, first reviewed in issue #89, is repeated to remind readers that the 1990 Silver Oak Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley and Napa cuvee, as well as the 1989 Bonny's Vineyard Cabernet have finally been released.
