Last Tasted 5/94
Tasted twice in the last eight months, this wine was one of the superstars at one of the tastings, and the most controversial wine at the other. In the most recent tasting the wine revealed an intense, olive, herbal, minty component accompanied by exotic, over-ripe, jammy, cassis, and black-cherry fruit. It is lavishly oaked, full-bodied, and concentrated, but the intense herbaceousness often possessed by the Bonny's Vineyard cuvee puts some tasters off. Although this is a controversial wine, it remains youthful, exuberant, and distinctive. It should drink well for 10-12 years.
