The medium-bodied 2008 Ermitage Les Dionnieres reveals notes of black cherries, crushed rocks, raspberries and red as well as black fruits. There is no noticeable oak in this medium-bodied, elegant, Burgundian-styled 2008. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Ferraton’s parent company, Chapoutier, has done an excellent job in St.-Peray working with Marsanne and Roussanne. This long-forgotten appellation may turn out to be the Northern Rhone’s white wine answer to Burgundy’s Chablis.
