The dark ruby/purple-colored 2000 Hermitage Les Dionnieres Estate offers up an enticing perfume of chocolatey black cherry and berry fruit interwoven with scents of vanilla and earth. Displaying a medium-bodied, tangy, higher acid style than typical for this vintage, it should drink well young, and last for 10-15 years.
Ferraton’s wines are made under the auspices of Michel Chapoutier and his talented oenologist, Alberic Mazoyer. Two levels of quality are offered, the negociant cuvees (made from purchased wines and/or grapes) and the single vineyard estate offerings.
