An outstanding cuvee, the 1998 Hermitage Les Dionnieres Estate rouge, comes from the southern sector of the Hermitage appellation. It boasts a dense ruby/black color as well as an intense bouquet of smoked herbs, framboise, violets, and blackberries. Pure and rich, with admirable finesse, full body, and a sweet, concentrated, moderately tannic finish, this 1998 requires 2-3 years of cellaring, and should keep for two decades.
