La Gaffeliere's 1994 appears to have quickly lost some of its fat and depth, taking on a medium-bodied, ripe, cherry, spicy, subtle style that would benefit from more intensity. There is good length and the wine is well-balanced, but there is simply not much to it. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
All of the wines in this segment were tasted between March 19 and March 28 in Bordeaux. Most of the important wines from both the 1994 and 1995 vintages were tasted three separate times during my ten-day stay in Bordeaux.
