The 2006 Las Gravas is composed of 55% Monastrell and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 16 months in new 500-liter French oak. It offers an enticing aromatic array of pain grille, pencil lead, black raspberry, and blueberry that jumps from the glass. This leads to an opulent, dense wine with complex flavors, a smooth-texture, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. It will evolve for 2-3 years and offer prime drinking from 2011 to 2020.
Casa Castillo has a history dating back to 1870 but came into its own in 1985 when the Vicente family revived the property by reconstructing the vineyards.
