To pair with a lamb shish kebab, the Scubla 2017 Friuli Colli Orientali Scuro Rosso is a blend of Merlot and Refosco from a warm and dry vintage. You are immediately made aware of the vintage warmth thanks to those slightly sweet cherry and blackberry tones that lift so readily from the bouquet. Dark fruit tones are followed by earthy notes, smoke and campfire ash. This was a release of about 1,500 bottles.
