The 2014 Savigny-les-Beaune Vieilles Vignes has a slightly rustic bouquet with red plum, crushed strawberry, damp undergrowth and fern-like scents. It is attractive, if lacking a little breeding. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. The acidity is nicely judged here, bright and lively with red cherry and strawberry, with a brisk and satisfying finish. Tasted September 2016.
