It is hard to find a top quality red Priorat for under $50, but the 2000 Iugiter is a beautiful blend of 87% Grenache (75 year old vines), 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Carignan. A sexy hussy, it boasts a dark ruby/purple color in addition to plentiful cranberry, berry, and blueberry fruit with pepper, licorice, and minerality in the background. Textured and round, but not as complex, structured, or intense as many of its peers, it is a delicious Priorat to drink over the next 3-4 years.
