The 2008 Les Eres is a blend of 45% Carinena, 35% Garnacha and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon from 80- to 100-year-old vines raised entirely in new French oak. That comes through on the nose and at the moment, it gets in the way of the fruit profile and expression of terroir. The palate is full-bodied and very oaky, which is a shame because there is obviously some very decent, enjoyable fruit down below. It is rendered a little “anonymous” in the winery. Drink 2016-2025.
