A tightly wound, foursquare wine, the roasting spice and dark fruit-scented 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin En Champs Vieilles Vignes is light to medium-bodied and slightly rustic. Its firm, tannic personality reluctantly displays lively dark berry flavors. This wine will need to expand and soften to earn an excellent score. Drink it between 2006 and 2012.
