The attractive 2010 Vacqueyras La Grangeliere is a blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah from 45-year-old vines planted on gravelly terraces interwoven with clay and limestone. It is aged in equal parts stainless steel tanks and 2-year-old small barrels. A deep plum/ruby/purple color is followed with lots of pepper, garrigue and kirsch liqueur notes. This heady, fleshy, up-front, seductive Vacqueyras is best drunk over the next 4-5 years.
