Value-conscious readers have long known about the very good quality of this wine, made just outside the Cornas appellation. It is a 100% Syrah wine with rustic tannin, big, deep, ruby/purple colors, not much complexity, but plenty of teeth-staining Syrah fruit exhibiting its tell-tale blackberry, earthy, licorice-like notes. Dominated by fruit, with tough tannin, it is ideal for uncritical quaffing at bistros or at home with full-flavored foods. It should drink well for 3-4 years, if not longer.
