Even better than the 1993, the 1994 Reserve Claret (98 cases produced) possesses an opaque purple color, followed by a less-evolved nose with similar underbrush, cassis, smoke, and pain grille notes. Full-bodied, super-extracted, with layers of ripe fruit, and well-integrated tannin and acidity, this is an enormously-endowed, layered wine that unfolds magnificently in the glass and on the palate. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2020.
This Spring Mountain winery continues to push the envelope of quality as evidenced by the current releases - the finest wines they have yet produced. Moreover, these wines catapult Pride Mountain into the top echelon of California's quality wineries.
