The 2009 My Time is impressive. A blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Friulano and 30% Sauvignon, My Time impresses for its focus and elegance. Ripe fruit that tilts towards the tropical end of the spectrum leads to hints of spices and flowers as the wine opens up in the glass. The 2009 has plenty of richness yet avoids the heaviness that is so common in this vintage. A long, creamy finish adds the last layers of nuance. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. It’s great to see Valter Scarbolo reaching these heights with his best wines. It would be even better, though, if the entire lineup were this compelling.
