The 2014 Batard Montrachet Grand Cru comes from 50-year-old vines with part of the domaine's parcel replanted after this harvest. Raised in 50% new oak, it has another very pretty bouquet with passion fruit and yellow plum scents unfolding in the glass, with fine mineral tension here. The palate has a touch of ginger on the entry, quite linear and taut with a fine bead of acidity. The oak is seamlessly integrated and then there is a wave of spiciness that fans out on the finish. This is an excellent Batard-Montrachet.
