Finally, the 2006 Sweet Carolyn is a 100% Muscat straw wine with 164gms residual sugar. It has a ripe nose of tangerine, orange-blossom and marmalade that has very good definition. The palate is very ripe and fruity on the entry, has nice purity and weight with a very sweet, honeyed, citrus-driven finish that needs a little more restraint. However, it is an enjoyable straw wine nonetheless.Vondeling is a Paarl-based production established in 2001, although the oldest vines are actually 27-years old.
