The four wines from Casto Ventosa are 100% Mencia. The 2003 Valtuille Cepas Centenarias raises the bar. Dark ruby in color, it has an excellent nose of damp earth, smoke, and jammy blackberry and black currant. On the palate, the wine is supple and sweet with plentiful dark fruits and a firm structure.
