Composed of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, this estate is a project of the owner of the celebrated Paris bistro, l’Ami Louis, Thierry de la Brosse. It is unquestionably my favorite bistro in the world, but restaurants aside, the 2007 Louis exhibits plenty of toasty oak as well as sweet black cherry and black currant fruit, medium body, good freshness and purity, and an elegant style. It possesses more density than most 2007s, and should age nicely for a decade or more.
