The FA 206 is an organically produced blend of 70% Garnacha Negra, 20% Carinena, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Syrah aged for 6 months in seasoned French oak. Purple-colored, it exhibits an attractive bouquet of cedar, slate, spice box, cherry, blueberry, and blackberry. This leads to a sweetly fruited wine with decent depth, underlying tannins, and a pure finish. Give it 2-3 years to round out and drink it through 2015.
Mas Igneus, which released its first wines in 1997, claims to be the first in Priorat to produce certified organic wines (those labeled FA). The current releases include one white wine. Only a tiny percentage of the wine produced in Priorat is white but they can be some of the most interesting white wines made in Spain.
