This property has been on a hot streak of late. The 2005 is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc from the limestone plateau of St.-Emilion. Offering raspberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with licorice and chalky notes, the wine is full-bodied, with great texture, purity and depth. This is a serious, elegant yet, at the same time, powerful wine. Drink it over the next 10-15+ years. A sleeper of the vintage.

Dark chocolate and blackberry aromas follow through to a full body, with lots of juicy fruit, soft tannins and a long aftertaste of coffee and berry. Best after 2012. 1,850 cases made. -JS
