Sandrone has turned in a magnificent effort with this 1990 Dolcetto. The ruby/purple color suggests super-ripeness and extraction. The nose of spring flowers, super-ripe black plums, and minerals is stunning. There is an expansive, full-bodied sweetness to this muscular, juicy, and succulent Dolcetto. It should be drunk over the next 2-4 years.
Sandrone is one of the finest producers of Barolo. Fortunately, I still have some bottles of his spectacular 1982 and 1985 in my cellar.
