The 2004 Gattinara San Francesco reveals an additional layer of plumpness in an overtly fruit-driven style. Although the San Francsco doesn’t quite have the same level of delineation as the top wines, it does offer plenty of fruit in a big, rich style. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2022.
Antoniolo is a reference-point producer for first-class Gattinara. This set of wines is easily the finest I have tasted here.
