From a first-class parcel called Kribslay, with a very shallow slate soil, the 2015 Erdener Treppchen Riesling Sp?tlese was picked in the end of October with 95° Oechsle but perfectly healthy grapes. The wine opens with a super ripe and intense tropical fruit aroma, intermixed with some spicy and almost caramel-like flavors. Lush and sweet, but also piquant on the palate, this is a generously fruit-intense Sp?tlese with a very sensual, lush and mouth-filling fruit. It shows lingering salinity and piquancy. Gorgeous! A picture-book Sp?tlese that tastes "like the Riesling berries when we harvested this wine," Christian Hermann says.
