The 2008 Batchelor’s Button Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot from the Bacchus and Dionysus Vineyards. The wine was aged for 22 months in seasoned French oak. Deep purple in color, it gives up an inviting nose of Asian spices, incense, violets, leather, and assorted black fruits. Dense on the palate with excellent volume and concentration, it reveals incipient complexity and plenty of succulence that will be on full display with another 2-3 years of cellaring. It will deliver prime drinking from 2013 to 2023.
Brett and Denise Isenhower began their Walla Walla-based winery in 1999. Their response to recessionary times has been to cut production and move primarily to direct sales. As a result, they have established a tasting room in Woodinville (where the customers are located).
