The Meursault en Luraule exhibits a ripe and rich nose. Jobard commented that he found the Luraule's lively nose atypical because it has a tendency to be restrained and austere. On the palate, this broad, oily-textured, medium-to-full-bodied, and expansive wine has luxurious mineral, pear, and stone-like flavors beautifully delineated by crisp acidity. Projected maturity: 2000-2005. In Jobard's opinion, the key to producing great white Burgundies in 1996 was to harvest late, allowing the grapes to produce higher natural sugar levels than were present at the ban de vendange.
