This was an impressive barrel sample when tasted last year, and the bottled wine has turned out to be even better. The dense ruby/purple-hued 2002 Crianza (there will be no single-vineyard bottlings in this vintage) exhibits a smoky, earthy, oaky nose, plenty of extract and richness, but a slightly monolithic character. It is a very good to excellent wine that I would opt for drinking over the next 4-5 years. Importer: Andre Tamers, De Maison Selections Inc., Chapel Hill, NC; tel. (919) 933-4245
