The accessible 2014 Barolo is a nicely balanced wine with good varietal-driven character. The bouquet offers a medley of dark berry aromas that are enhanced by spice, cola and grilled herb. This vintage is definitely thinner and less intense in terms of mouthfeel. Given the thinness of the palate, there are some heavy wood tones that are left hanging loose. Some 6,000 bottles were made.

Eucalyptus, mint, leather and tobacco notes encircle the cherry and strawberry fruit in this tannic red. Hard to see this finding its balance today, but the finish is long and the sweet fruit returns in the end.
