The 2009 Barolo opens to aromas of candied fruit, dried plum and blackberry preserves. There is a pretty showing of licorice and even a touch of dusty mocha chocolate at the back. Balsam herb and grilled rosemary also make interesting aromatic contributions. Because the primary fruit is fading, I would suggest a near-term drinking window,
