The 2008 Altos de la Hoya Monastrell Ungrafted Old Vines is 92% Monastrell and 8% Garnacha aged mostly in seasoned oak. Dark ruby-colored, it proffers a nose of cigar box, leather, underbrush, and assorted black fruits. On the palate it is ripe, savory, friendly, and forward.
