Potentially the Boillot brothers' most complete 1995 Cote de Beaune, the dark ruby colored Pommard Les Croix Noires was produced from 70 year old vines. It offers aromas of super-ripe raspberries and cherries. On the palate, it has an intense, thick, layered, full-bodied personality filled with flavors of sweet blueberries and red fruits. Concentrated and powerful, it possesses the necessary structure and fruit to easily outlive its tannic backbone. Projected maturity: 1999-2009.As always, ratings with a score in parentheses indicate the wine was tasted from cask, not bottle.Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel (510) 524-1524.
