The 2009 Reserva is pure Tempranillo that shows strong aromas of tempera paint, licorice, Chinese ink and hints of leather and peat. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with the flavors dominated by the animal character, including flavors of beef blood and leather. It is slightly drying toward the finish. Drink 2014-2017.
This is the project from Alejandro Fernandez of Tinto Pesquera in the village of Haza. I found a too strong animal character in their wines.
