They have merged the names of the old vine cuvée into 2014 Vi?a Godeval Cepas Vellas (old vines in Gallego). Sourced from their oldest vines (which are around 30-years-old), on slate slopes at some 450 meters altitude. It fermented in stainless steel with neutral yeasts after a cold soak of 12 hours and the temperature was kept quite low. The wine was kept in contact with the fine lees for some four to five months with frequent battonage to avoid reduction before bottling. There are some riper aromas here leaning towards yellow fruit, but similar purity, maybe not as focused as the regular Godello. The palate is medium-bodied, with good volume, ripe flavors and a slightly bitter finish. At the end of the day they are on a similar qualitative level. 25,000 bottles produced.
