The single vineyard wines begin with the 2008 Pinot Noir Symonette Vineyard. It was naturally fermented and aged in barrel for 10 months. Asian spices, incense, floral notes, strawberry, and cherry aromas jump from the glass. Concentrated and structured on the palate, it has ample succulent fruit, good volume, and some precision. Give it 2-3 years to display its full potential and drink it from 2013 to 2023. After making very good to outstanding wines in 2005 and 2006, Dobbes Family fell off the horse in the challenging 2007 vintage. However, they seem to have remounted with an excellent portfolio of 2008s.www.dobbesfamilyestate.com
