Pierre Morey's 2008 Meursault is still a young wine, wafting from the glass with a high-toned bouquet of lemon oil, almond paste and vanilla pod. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, taut and racy, with glossy texture on the attack that gives way to a tangy, chalky core of zesty fruit and a long, acid-driven finish. This cuvée is decidedly electric in this vintage, and I won't be rushing to drink up my remaining bottles, as it has a good decade ahead of it.
