The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru le Porusot, which since 2014 comes from just one plot on the lieu-dit of Porusot-Dessus, was matured in one-quarter new oak. It was a bit reticent on the nose when I tasted it, the aromatics stubborn and refusing to show themselves. The palate is much more responsive: just a touch of reduction on the entry then a lively second half with fresh grapefruit, Granny Smith apple and pear, leading to a vibrant saline finish. Despite the recalcitrant nose, my feeling is that this may well turn out to be one of Jean-Marc's best 2015s.
