In 2005 the Chianti Classico Grosso Senese reveals a profile of red fruits, toasted oak and minerals. This is a relatively fresh and slender Grosso Senese, but it shows outstanding balance and poise. It is a terrific effort in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2020. This is a lovely set of wines from the Sderci brothers. Although the wines clearly reflect the smaller-scaled nature of the 2005 vintage, they also show remarkable transparency.
